How to Easily Increase Your Affiliate Profits by 30%

January 9th, 2010

Selling affiliate products is a great way to start a new online business. It’s free to get started and you can begin making money right away! But there are some pitfalls along the way. One of the biggest problems in the affiliate marketing area is theft.  It is estimated that the average marketer experiences a 30% loss of affiliate revenue due to theft!

A good question that puzzles many new website owners suffering this fate is, “how does it happen”? The answer is straight forward; thieves view the source code of your web page and easily obtain the URL of the affiliate links along with relevant details. They replace Your affiliate ID with their own ID and create a new affiliate link. Then they use this new link to purchase the product. The result is, you lose a commission and the thief gets a discount. Most affiliate marketers are not even aware that they were robbed.

So how do you protect yourself against these thieves? The best way to protect your affiliate profits is to cloak your links. A good cloaking system hides your affiliate ID from these dishonest individuals. There are several cloaking techniques that you can use to protect your profits.

The first and easiest is to use is Tinyurl. This web service is free and is very easy to use. You simply go to the website and enter your affiliate URL into the text box. They’ll provide you with an alternate URL for that link. The new link that they provide effectively hides your affiliate ID. There are many other companies that provide the same type service but this is among the most well known.

There is also software available that will cloak your links. Some of the software is quite expensive but inexpensive options also exist. So, stop those affiliate thieves in their tracks. Take back the 30% that they’ve been stealing and protect your profits with affiliate links.

Check out my newest ebook for some great ways to cloak your affiliate links.

How to Promote Your Affiliate Squeeze Page

January 8th, 2010

There are several ways to promote your affiliate squeeze page.

You can use Google Adwords to send traffic to your affiliate opt-in page. You can create a blog at Blogger.com. And you can write articles and submit them to article directories.

Before you do any of these marketing tactics you need to check your marketing system to make sure everything is in place.

You need to fix any grammar errors and misspellings. Check your web pages in both of the browsers, which are Netscape and Internet Explorer.

Do yourself a favor and double check all your autoresponder messages for grammar and misspellings.

Check the sequence of your autoresponder.

You need to test your autoresponder by subscribing to your own opt-in list with your personal email address.

Also try to unsubscribe from your own list.

It is very important to check your list to make sure your email address is added when you subscribed and removed when you un-subscribed.

Check if your affiliate link is properly working in the email messages that will be sent to your own email address.

Once this is done you can start to promote your affiliate squeeze page. Here I will cover article marketing, as this is the easiest, surest and most viral affiliate marketing available on the Internet. And it’s absolutely free!

Let’s say you have chosen 4 affiliate programs. Start writing articles for these affiliate programs by using two affiliate links per article for the resource box when you submit. That way you only have to write 2 articles a day for each affiliate link set. This will add up to 4 articles a day.

Do this every single day. Put two of your affiliate links in the resource box of two of your articles and the other two affiliate links in the resource box of the other two articles.

When submitting your articles make sure to read the article directory rules very carefully because some of them may not accept affiliate links.

If that is the case you need to re-direct your affiliate links to a blog created especially for the specific affiliate program or to a domain name you have buy including the hosting, if asked for it.

Writing articles is not as difficult as it sounds. Google search for some useful content related to your affiliate programs and write about 250-300 words about it.

Write in a ‘telling the secrets’ style without revealing it all. Leave enough to wonder about so your prospects will want to click on your affiliate links.

If you do this you will soon see real money making results. This is viral, once it starts it never stops!

How Does Spyware Kills Your Affiliate Marketing Business

January 2nd, 2010

An affiliate marketer works hard to bring quality traffic to his affiliate partners via his affiliate links. But in reality almost more than 30% of affiliate sales being hijacked by affiliate hijackers either manually or using spywares. Manual affiliate hijacking is done by manually replacing affiliate id from affiliate links. For example, assume you have a Clickbank affiliate id, and you would like to purchase a product from Clickbank which is being promoted by other affiliate marketer. All you have to do is to replace the affiliate id in the link with yours and click the link. When you purchase the product, the affiliate commission will be paid to you rather than the original affiliate marketer.

Another more dangerous way of hijacking affiliate commissions is by using spyware that attaches and watches the browser for Clickbank, CJ and other well known affiliate links or hop links in the page the surfer is viewing. As soon as it sees a known hop link ( the link which carries your affiliate link) it changes the affiliate ID of the affiliate link to the one owned by the spyware creator. This will be done every time on pages which has anyone’s affiliate link as long as the spyware is in the user’s computer.

Every time someone clicks the affiliate links on pages which carries affiliate links , the credits are actually being credited to someone else! Your visitors are not even getting a chance to see the affiliate links being hijacked because they are changed before anyone notices it.

Therefore, knowledge of how to cloak affiliate links should be a knowledge that affiliate marketer must learn, This will definitely help to avoid the precious efforts placed to promote the links from being credited to others.

Why Am I Not Making Any Sales From My Affiliate Links

November 22nd, 2009

Why Am I Not Making Any Sales From My Affiliate LinksWhy haven’t I made any sales yet?Is a frequent comment I hear beginners and internet money making newbies make. They see a little traffic coming to their site and expect to start seeing sales. What they don’t quite understand is the whole concept of conversion rate and keyword focus not to mention understanding your market niche/s.Understanding Conversion Rates:This is extremely important to understand your conversion rates, many affiliates start to get a small amount of traffic coming to their websites and immediately believe that they should start to see sales coming through straight away. Conversion rates account for only a small percentage of visitors to your website. The industry standard conversion rates i.e. website visitors to actuall traffic with potential to buy your products is some 1 or 2%, so if you drive 100 visitors to your site, bearing in mind this is targetted traffic, then you should make 1 sale.Sales Conversion Rate:You need to look at the actual sales conversion rates as this is where most affiliate marketers actually decide to give up on a product or niche as they beleive they are not making sales fast enough is the sales conversion rateCheck Your Website Stats:Having website stats is very important to the success of an affiliate project or marketing campaign and you should look for 1% conversions so (1 in 100) vistors to sales and that would be in line with standard sales for affiliate market niches. If you are sending 500 vistors to your product page or blog and it is still not converting to sales then you should take a look at:1) Your Landing Page: If you host your own page you should consider tweaking various things such as keywords, article information or even the price !!!!2) Product / Niche Relevancy: Are you sending targetted traffic to your website for the product or affiliate niche you are promoting. To take a summary view there are a lot of things you can have more control over when it comes to you conversion rates, the product and indeed keyword relevancy are probably the biggest and most important factors. You need to first think about and then design a landing page that is highly targetted and keyword relevant to the product you are promoting then it is likely to see much higher conversion rates. You should examine your affiliate projects with a fine toooth comb and if you get all the factors mostly correct and optimise all the factors above then you will stand to see remarkable increased sales conversion rates and therefore lots more money in your affiliate accounts !!!

Making Money With Affiliate Links, Google Adsense and Pl Content

November 17th, 2009

One of the most frequently asked questions of all time is, “How do I make money on the Internet”?

If you have been trying to make money by Internet for even a short while, you have undoubtedly heard quite a few names being thrown about. It seems as if everyone sees themselves as an expert and everyone who is anyone knows everyone else who is someone. It is like a marketing guru clique. And they make you think that if you do not know somebody, you will always be a nobody.

You have probably encountered product launches, audio and video streaming, teleseminars, and joint ventures, etc. The gurus that are selling these products and services are making money hand over fist. In all fairness, these products and services are genuine and valuable to the folks who buy them.

But what most of them will not tell you is that there are thousands of people on the Internet making thousands of dollars a month without spending a lot of money. They do not fly to every seminar in the country just to make contacts. They rarely do joint ventures, because frankly, no one knows who they are. They literally sit in front of their computers in their underwear, click a few links, and wait for the money to roll in.

How do they do it? Affiliate links, Google Adsense, and content.

Take Google Adsense, for instance. Search engines love good content, the more, the better.

When you create multiple content pages on your website, the search engine spiders crawl the site, then follow each link to more content, which helps raise your rankings.

How does this make you money? By placing Adsense ads on every page. As readers click through your pages, many will also click the Adsense links. Every time they do, you make a commission from Google. It can be anywhere from a few cents to several dollars.

They do not have to buy anything. Just clicking the link makes you money. The more people you drive to your site, the more people will click the links, and the more money you will make.

Now all you need is content. If you are a good writer, you can write your own. But most of us are not.

One option would be to use articles written by others. Go to any of the popular article directories and you will find thousands of articles. Most can used free of charge as long as you include the resource box with each article. Since you are not promoting your own product, this is a very viable option.

The major downside to using other peoples articles is that the reader will view them as the expert and likely click the link in the resource box instead of the Adsense links, and you lose money.

However, the best option is Private Label Rights articles. Just a little editing can turn these articles into your own creation. The reader will view you as the expert, since you are not competing with another writer.

You can also include your own resource box with a link to an affiliate program, so whether they click the Adsense links or your affiliate link, you have increased your chances of making money. And you have done it without a single product of your own.

Making money on the Internet is not as difficult as some would have you believe. As with any business, give the people what they want and they will keep coming back.

In all my years being an Internet Marketer, this is the number one question I see and hear all the time. “How do I make money on the Internet”?

You have probably encountered product launches, audio and video streaming, teleseminars, and joint ventures, etc. And don’t forget the flood of emails promising millions of dollars in just 30 days with absolutely no experience and so easy a baby could do it! These gurus that are selling these products and services are making money hand over fist. In all fairness, these products and services are genuine and valuable to the folks who buy them.

How do they do it? Affiliate links, Google Adsense, and content are a few of the ways. Little information products and reports are another very popular method of making money online.

The Best Places for Google Ads and Affiliate Links on your Website

November 15th, 2009

What are the best positions for affiliate links and google ads?

Placing affiliate links on your website can really make a difference on how many clicks you end up getting and, since every click means a potential sale, this is an important aspect of internet marketing.

Research has shown that the most effective affiliate links are text links. Thats right, plain text links. Not big flashy banner ads like most affiliate website are filled to the brim with. What happens is, you write a great article (or have one created) about the product or something related to the product and stick the link into your text. This allows interested readers to see the link as they are reading and click on it.

Of course, your article and your link have to work effectively together to make this happen. A bad article and an unrelated link to an unknown product are not likely to make the profits roll in. So the next time you are out to choose an affiliate link, try placing a relevant link in a great article that is well optimized for search engines and see how it works out for you. Visit this great site http://www.makemoneyonline.co.nz for more information on articles, internet promotion and marketing topics.

What are the best places for your google ads?

Place google ads at the top and top left of your site. Ads placed near rich content and navigational aids usually do well because users are focused on those areas of a page. Wider ads seem to perform better that taller ads. The formats that are most effective are the 336×280 large rectangle, the 300×250 inline rectangle, and the 160×600 wide skyscraper. Although these ad formats perform well, you should use the format that best complements your pages.

How To Effectively Cloak Your Affiliate Links

November 10th, 2009

Affiliate links are something we all have to live with in internet marketing, but unfortunately we sometimes find that unscrupulous people hijack them. Even if they don’t hijack them, some people will just strip the affiliate part in order to deprive you of a commission. They don’t even save themselves any money or gain anything out of this other than some perverse pleasure in ripping someone off.
Whilst there are programs out there that will cloak your links and also track the click throughs, here’s an easy way that you can employ on your own web site to both cloak your links and also improve the presentation of them.
Before I get onto that, can I just say that there are other methods such as using Tiny URL, but personally I dislike these type of links. They almost scream “Hey, look what I’m trying to hide”. I feel that this method is not only effective, but also provides great presentation and a recommendation from you as the web site owner as well.
OK, here we go.
Let’s assume that we are going to cloak the following link:-
